A team of researchers at the Altamira Museum headed by its director, José Antonio Lasheras, working in Paraguay in the inventory of rock art in this country, in collaboration with a team of American professionals in publishing Photosynthesis SA

The inventory of rock art is a project of the National Secretariat of Culture of Paraguay is financed with funds from the English Agency For International Development (AECI).

The aim of this study, as Altamira Museum information gathered by Europa Press, incorporating the country rock heritage, dating back over 5,000 years, so it can be known by the Paraguayans. The initiative is part of the Bicentennial celebration of Latin American independence.

The team is formed, by Spain, Pilar Fatás, deputy director of the Museo de Altamira, an archaeologist and anthropologist, Alfredo Prada, an archaeologist and restorer, Francisco Teran, surveyor and production, and by José Antonio Lasheras, which exercises scientific director the project.

On behalf of the Paraguayan Photosynthesis editorial work in these investigations Joaquin Allen, assistant graphic displays, video and production assistant, Karen Chapman, in logistics and secretariat functions; Mario Fleitas, administration and audit of the project, and Fernando Allen, consultant-project manager who is also responsible for photographic documentation.

All are in Paraguay from the past 27 days, and during these days have worked in places like the hill still, in the Parque Nacional Cerro Cora, in Tuja, where cave images have been cataloged, or Akua 2, near of Ysau hill, where they worked in a cave with rock art printmaking, the style known as "footprints."

Researchers define art as "the images that accompany our words, our ideas and beliefs important transcendent," which, in the case of rock art, "accompanied the ideas and beliefs essential issues of those first inhabitants of the basin Paraguay. "
